The Latin name for Liquorice Root is Glycyrrhiza glabra which translates as the sweet root. Scientifically proven to be fifty times sweeter than sugar however it’s good for your teeth! It contains at least two compounds which are beneficial for your pearly whites. Glycyrrhizin is antibacterial, and ‘indol’ is a potent decay-preventive compound. No wonder it’s used as a natural toothbrush by those in the know!
